# Why we built Aha Translator

Aha Translator is a writing tool, not another translator. The people we built it for already understand English well enough to read a docs page, a GitHub issue, a customer email, or a social feed. They freeze when they have to produce a reply.

Pasting a machine translation into the box is fast. It never trains the muscle they actually need. Next time the same kind of message arrives, they translate again. Understanding goes up; writing stays stuck.

Aha starts in the input they were already going to use: Gmail, a ticket, a comment, a post, a form. They draft the meaning in their own language, then write the English from memory while Aha checks every word. The English that goes out is theirs.

Side-by-side reading and sentence breakdown are helpers. They are not the product. We will not pretend Aha is a general translator, a pronunciation tutor, or an agent that writes email for someone else.
